Beirut - Elephant Gun

if you're feeling sinister- belle and sebastian

So these are pictures were taken tonight at a Salt Lake Tow Truck place of business where a burger was taken out of this very vehicle. Maybe you can figure out from the photo who this is but I'm not naming names because I'd like to keep this a little discrete (we will call her subject A). Even though I'm posting pictures of it on the internet? okay, I failed. Let me start from the beginning....

This is Kristopher Orr.

We know him from BYUI and he currently lives down the street from us.On an evening such as this our plan was to go to some sort of concert/show (a free one downtown that Kortney and Rachel wanted to see).

[*side note* We have had problems with tow trucks before. The street we live on is a lane and this lane has no parking written all over it. One of the first nights we were here Rachel parked her car on the 'lane', it was towed, and she ended up playing 300+ dollars to get it back. Insane, I know right?]

Well Kristopher, not knowing the rules had parked on the street and being inside for 10 minutes guess what happened? Yes children, that is right, he unfortunately met the same fate Rachel did.

He died. Or his faith in humanity did.

After a very long pissed off phone call to the towing company we made our way over there to pick up his car. Upon doing so who pulls up but... the towing car. Towing people, meet Karma. Going inside, they leave their car on and A rummaged and delivered. A ended up going back and apologizing a bit later (modern day robin hood)

*Lee came over.

*living it up on his $275 evening.

*finally some solo shots of Kristin.

Moral of the story: go to bed early and don't play with fire.

This my dear friends, is a wonderful song.

o Patti Smith

About two years ago my pal Laura Johnson and I made our way downtown to The Loft to watch a documentary on Patti Smith called 'Patti Smith: Dream of Life'. It was so good that I remember afterwards thinking I had truly watched an artist at work on the big screen. It was very raw and natural.

I haven't really reflected on this experience much until I was in Barnes and Noble the other day and picked up her book called 'Just Kids'. Every page I turned blew me away with how delicate and intricate her wording was, like each one was chosen very carefully but not designed or designated (maybe even innate). and how relatable she seems! I didnt buy it because I just recently bought a book (and have made a promise to finish it before buying another) but I did make it to page 37. I plan on going back tomorrow after work to continue my experience through her experiences.

all the world and blue toothbrushes

I come up with names and then I think about what to write. I'll probably do this with my children because it's so ironic to name something you don't know or understand just yet. So this one came in the bathroom when I was brushing my teeth. As I was brushing, I came upon the realization that every toothbrush in that bathroom was blue. I may have noticed this before but why are we prone to choose a certain color? and why blue? I googled it and found a small study on color. Once again, blue being the popular choice. Is this because everyone is doing it or could this be human nature. Maybe blue is simply attractive to our brains.

Well here are my blue toothbrush roommates (by no means average).

Rachel Fabiano *logical. grandma clothes. currently an intern at Slug Magazine.

Kortney Cooper *loyal to thrift store decor. personable. a lover of good food.

and Kristin Cooper* passionate. empathetic. loving. (no solo photo yet)
I know them from school. It's cool we found a place to ourselves in Utah.
May the madness live on.

serious business*

Clowns have always scared me but NOT when mixed with a pretty girl and an owl boy.

Im allergic to eggs or so I have been told.
Yes sadly. I must get my proteins in somewhere so I force myself to eat them sometimes... like tonight... I simply disguise them with a costume of various foods i.e. peppers, onions, tomatoes, avocados, salsa, and mushrooms. An attempt to hopefully fool everyone; that the taste-buds will tell my stomach that the substance is a U.F.O and not poisonous eggs.
Let's hope yoga is still in order for the evening. I'm going to go to a studio tonight in Murray, the first class is free. Since back surgery I am finally able to sit and think without the inconvenience of a broken body.

*signing off with 'the pains of being pure at heart'
because they simply make me feel good.

blessed tucson

The last night I was in Tucson Arizona (2 weeks ago)
my good friends played a show at Cafe Zope on 4th Avenue.
It was awesome, a lot of people came, and everyone had fun.
This was my first experience with my digital camera.

An amateur hour for myself.
I miss my friends very much.
Tucson will always have a slice of my heart.

Monday Monday

Training today at work was so very long. ughhh.
Currently Im working at an outdoor store
and I just started work at a treatment center.
I can't complain
but someday I would like a job that I can wear fancy clothing to...

until then I'll keep my day job(s).

Never Tear Us Apart - Beck

still one of my favorites.
Currently I'm dating hot chocolate but I want to marry tea. Hot chocolate is just so much more comforting on the nights when I have too much to think about.
I think a slow conversion is in order.

So no, I do not live in Salt Lake, I lied. Actually I am living in Murray which is a bit South and a bit more ghetto but I'm quite okay with this. I have splendid roommates and we have a very nice townhouse with work nearby.

these are my beautiful roommates

one of my best friends: Jar-um

our band will be called "in the wilderness".

These creepy photos are from the SugarHouseCoffee Shop we went to the other night. We were engaged in conversation with a man (I didn't catch his name) who had traveled the states and had a lot of advise for us. Some to keep and some to throw away like ABEH who needs that? I'm not buying any school books these days! He told us to basically explore the outdoors, see all the beautiful things that don't cost money.
I am going to take his advice to heart.

Goals for this week:
tell people who are attractive that they are attractive
make the most of everyday/moment
get my fitness on
fall in love (with myself)
