A new infant is welcomed into the family nest! (figuratively)

When I'm sick
I like to snuggle up in blankets,
browse the internet for people like you who inspire me,
read books,
and call my mom on advice on what to do
she can make me feel so much better! (it's a mental thing.)
but unfortunately my parents are cross-country skiing
in the Flagstaff Arizona mountains and wont be home til...
well. they don't really tell me these things anymore...

sicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksicksick

Yesterday I decided to get some FRESH air by going to the post office
and on the way I stopped for a bit of thrifting at the D.I.

Just a browse and a cough later
temptation struck again
when my friend Emily Munk called to tell me about the cotton shop having a great deal on sewing machines.
(I've been talking about purchasing one for months!)
SO... in the unhealthy state I was in, I meandered into this fine store.
(p.s. valentines day is OVER cotton shop)

... I made the scariest decision of my young life!
I brought home a new baby...

 I wrapped it up
and put it in the trunk
of my gas guzzling car

It came with accessories.
(thank goodness! I would not know how to take care of it)

 I named it Trudie

and now it has a loving home

Later that night I was in Provo and ventured out with my friends.
We ate Cafe Rio,
visited Emily,
and saw the movie Tron in 3D
which was great
a bit clean-cut, disney-ish film, extravaganza, BUT overall awesome
ESPeCiaLLY the music.
way to go Daft Punk

Hillary &

Matthew Erdmann

 LAST but not least
Living in old houses typically for their character is very cool
but renting a pad that has newer bathroom has it's pluses.
Baths are the BESSSST.
I had an essential oil bath ball that I dropped in
(notice the blue water (*no I'm not in hawaii like Alex Lovin, I wish))
and my tobacco & bergamot candle! mmm perfection.

Now I just need some animal loving. I really want a bunny.
Preferably a very large one with huge ears and giant black and white spots.
(I had a dream about it once and I named it Pepper. Some dreams should come true.)
A new addition to the family in the future?

WARNING: for your safety

I was waiting until I felt better before I wrote anything down
but I'm afraid the memories may slip away.
As I have been sick for a bit now, some of the things I may post in here
could be delusional.
Im not making excuses, I'm just giving a warning.
I may love something today or I could get passionate
and tomorrow be confused by my previous emotions.
so let's experiment.
(p.s. it might be fun to scroll to the bottom and hit play on the music video
and then come back to the top & listen while going through the pictures.)

My wonderful dear friend Jeff White came into town this President's Day weekend
and it was a blast!

We started the venture at SlowTrain, an intimate local music shop
with all your everyday interests.

*psssst... this is my favorite part
(searching through music)

*he's really enjoying this, as you can see.
I feel like I'm at the zoo, watching this creature in his natural habitat.
(delusional? I'm perfectly fine)

*we LOVE the music!!! (delusional)

We went to an antique shop a few doors down called Retro Rose.
There was SO much of that forest vintage green & mustardy yellows.
Two colors that I am very fond of.

With all your everyday needs:

*clocks

*matches

*boots

*robert sherman

Jeff taught me a few things today

* how to tie a tie

*and spoon feed children

so... we weren't sure how old these were

BUT we ate them anyways

*this is real!

*this is not real.

*real!

*not.

We ventured across the street to find this delightful book shop!

X marks the spot

 * the emo children's poetry book

*here is an excerpt from it
(I rather enjoy things like this, pure adolescent angst.)

*here is something that I loved as a child.

*I love cinco de mayo!
EVERYTHING. everything about it.

What a beautiful day!
We both bought 2 books.
(mine are on the left, Jeff's on the right)

*what are the chances? our totals came out to be the same price...
I think it means something... like good luck for a year?
yeah I've heard that somewhere

SICK CORNER
So I have been sick for a few days and here are some suggestions when I end up getting you sick too...

* this can change your life. seriously my favorite tea of all time!
(I may need to experience more before shouting this from the roof top but I'M In Love!)

*these are seriously the BEST cough drops.

vitamin C, Zinc, and fluids are great too!

The Pains of Being Pure at Heart
(I've posted some of their stuff before)
I love this baaaannnnndddd,
boy crazy about them for-sure.
(*thanks Taylor Short for introducing me)
